Research
I looked at many women's rain jackets to get a better understanding of what is available on the market, and what the problems are with those items.
The Problem
Most rain jackets are not very breathable, and sweat collects in the jacket making the user uncomfortable. Another issue is that the hoods in women's jackets are usually too shallow for the user to have their hair up while still having their face protected.

Prototype and Construction
I created the first prototype so I could check the fit and practice construction. The fit was not quite right and it needed a hood, so I fixed these issues on the final.
This was my first time sealing seams. I wanted to increase water resistance in the jacket.
This was also my first time patterning something from scratch, but I wanted the hood to have a very specific fit. I designed the hood to have extra room to accommodate the user having their hair up.

EVent is an innovative fabric that is both waterproof and breathable.
